The Black Women’s Health Imperative (BWHI) is the only national organization dedicated solely to advancing the health and well-being of Black women and girls. Position Summary
Key Responsibilities
Employee Lifecycle Management
● Lead and improve onboarding and offboarding processes, including 30- and 60-day check-ins feedback collection, and experience enhancements.
● Coordinate with managers to ensure a consistent, mission-aligned employee experience.
2. Engagement & Culture Building
● Plan and manage engagement activities for a fully remote team and employee recognition programs.
● Partner with leadership to coordinate All Hands meetings, agendas, and activities.
3. Compliance, Payroll & Policies
● Coordinate payroll processing with external provider, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
● Maintain compliance with employment laws and support audits.
● Assist with policy development, updates, and handbook revisions.
4. Performance & Goal Setting
● Administer the annual performance review process and provide tools for meaningful feedback.
● Support the creation and tracking of KPI and goal-setting templates.
5. Learning, Communication & Systems
● Coordinate Learning & Development activities and track participation.
● Draft HR-related communications and maintain the HR intranet site for easy access to resources.
● Maintain HRIS and recommend process improvements to streamline operations.
Special Projects & Cross-Functional Support
● Contribute to organization-wide initiatives, events, and projects in collaboration with HR leadership and the Executive Staff.
● Take on ad hoc assignments that align with BWHI’s mission and support operational excellence.
Required Experience
● A High School diploma and a minimum of four (4) years of experience in HR, including onboarding/offboarding, compliance, payroll coordination, and program administration.
● Proven ability to improve HR programs and processes.
● Experience coordinating employee engagement activities in a remote work environment.
● Proficiency with:
- HRIS, onboarding, learning modules
- Google Workspace – Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar, Gmail
- Zoom – Remote onboarding and meetings
- DocuSign – Policy acknowledgments, employment documents
- Excel or Google Sheets – Basic tracking and formatting
● Ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote work environment.
● Discretion and sound judgment in handling confidential information.
● Relevant HR compliance and labor law knowledge will be subject to a pre-employment assessment.
Preferred Experience
● A Bachelor’s Degree
● Experience working in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
● Exposure to KPI and/or Goals development and performance management processes.
● Experience with Monday.com or other project management tools
● Experience with ADP Workforce Now a plus
● HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) a plus.

● This is a full-time (FTE) position (40 hours/week). Additionally, all employees are required to be available during core working hours (10:00 am – 3:00 pm EST) and across multiple time zones.
● Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods.
● Occasional travel for team meetings, events, or training may be required.
The estimated base compensation range for this role is $55,000 – $65,000. Actual base pay for a successful candidate will consider skills, experience and location.
