BWHI President and CEO speaks on Planned Parenthood’s Cecile Richards’ Resignation

Statement from Black Women’s Health Imperative Executive Office

WASHINGTON D.C. — Today, the Black Women’s Health Imperative (BWHI) president and CEO, Linda Goler Blount released the following statement in response to the resignation of Cecile Richards, as President of Planned Parenthood:

“It is with heartfelt gratitude that we celebrate Cecile Richards for her leadership and continued activism for reproductive justice. Her work to support and empower women to speak their truth and demand their right to bodily autonomy is commendable. Cecile is a trusted leader for reproductive justice and has shown this repeatedly in her 12 years of service to women and girls across our nation. The legacy of achievements under her leadership at Planned Parenthood will remain with us all. We at the Black Women’s Health Imperative, wish Cecile the best on the next phase of her journey.”
